Anime Review: Flying Witch

October 12, 2017

Becoming a witch isn’t as hard as it used to be. Unless you’re an airhead who gets lost anywhere you go. Makoto is in training to become a witch like her older sister. For the final part of her training she is living with her cousin’s family while working to become a full-fledged witch.

Honestly, I don’t have a lot of content to write about this show as there wasn’t much content in it. I don’t mean it was boring, just nothing that was an outstanding scene or sequence. Each episode kind of stands on its own. There are some threads that weave throughout the season, but none of them are major items that need to be followed.

The magical girl stuff is actually very minimal. Meaning there isn’t a lot of magic, it just happens to be about a girl who is learning magic. But it’s a fun show. Each episode has a good mix of comedy, heart and story telling. Throughout the show they introduce various characters to keep things moving along so it never really feels like just the same thing over and over. It’s also completely clean.

If you want a show that keeps you riveted and wanting to watch the next episode and end up having watched the entire show before you realize it, this isn’t for you. On the other hand, if you want a nice easy going show that you can pick up and watch at any time without having to worry about what happened last episode, this is a great pick.
