The socially acceptable way to play with your food!
So, about 6 months ago myself and two of the guys I work with (one is “lead” for one of our offsite campuses, which basically means he is in charge of making sure everything works; the other is one of our graphics designers) came up with an idea for a new card game. That was nothing new. We are always coming up with half-brained ideas over lunch (monoprice vending machines, for example). Usually about five minutes into the discussion we realize how bad an idea it is and drop it. This time we thought it was a good idea.
Over the next few weeks we hammered out some more ideas over lunches and came up with a game prototype. We played it and really enjoyed it. We spent the next few months refining the game, asking friends and co-workers to play it and give us feedback. What we came up with was a pretty interesting and fun game.
mealtime-sabotage-complete-mealThe basic premise is that you are trying to build a complete meal (one entree, two sides, a drink and a dessert) and have the lowest total calories. Sounds pretty easy, except for the sabotage cards. Other players can sabotage your meal by playing certain cards on your food. For example, if you play a side salad (low calories) your friend could play a gravy card on top of it to add calories. I mean, gravy with salad sounds great doesn’t it? That is where much of the fun comes in, discovering some unique, and disgusting, combinations of foods.
So head on over to our KickStarter page and take a closer look. We even have some live game play videos up so you can see the game in action. We would love it if you thought the game was fun enough to back us, but we would love it even more if you told your friends.
